High School Drawing
Naramore Art Show – High School Drawing
Ballard High School

Artist Statement: This piece began as a blind contour drawing of my classroom, which I then embellished with water color.

Artist Statement: This piece contains a blue ball-point pen drawing of my older sister on the right. She is peering over at a more cartoony-looking person on the left who is seen to be drawing a portrait of her. These characters are both drawn with the same blue pen, yet differ so drastically. The contrast between them creates a strange tension that represents the limitations of perception in your mind, versus reality.

Artist Statement: What inspired this piece was one of my favorite book series. I made it by getting a reference of the character and using pen and ink. I learned that I could make and recreate almost anything I wanted to after making this piece.

Artist Statement: What inspired my piece was my favorite manga, Berserk. I used a panel as a reference and used deleter paper, pencil and dip pen to draw it. I always normally draw using pencil and dip pen for the most authentic depiction of whatever I’m drawing.
